A fond farewell to Margaret Lodge
|
On the last day of the term at Bishop Monkton School the children bade a fond farewell to Margaret Lodge when she stepped down from being school secretary, a position she has held for many years.
All the children have many memories of their Mrs Lodge's kindness. She was always there to help them such as phoning home when they were unwell or had forgotten something. When children proudly took their work to show her, she always had time to look at it and praise their efforts.
Parents and staff, too, valued her patience and efficiency. Margaret was always there, quietly and cheerfully helping everybody and she will be greatly missed.
The children rolled out the red carpet for her farewell. They sang for her and watched as she opened her gifts - a pair of fine bone china Limited Edition Cottage Garden Vases by Aynsley with a matching Chantille Bud vase, a Boots voucher, a bouquet of flowers, a single bud and a special book made by the children. The special book contained a photo of each child and a personal message from each to Mrs Lodge.
Margaret also had a surprise gift for the children - a beautiful rainbow cross for the collective worship table.
